Dynamics NAV 2013 or later Drilldown Settings


RoleTailored Client (RTC) Drilldown:

To configure the RTC Drilldown for Dynamics NAV 2013 or later you must obtain the following information.

1) The RTC server name or IP address.

2) The Client Services port for the RTC.

3) The RTC instance name.

All of this information can be obtained by opening the Dynamics NAV RTC and navigating to the 'Select Server' menu.

To access the 'Select Server' menu press the Dynamics NAV menu button (blue downward facing arrow button in the top left corner of the Dynamics NAV RTC).

The screenshots below show the corresponding information which is color coded to show which boxes to enter the information into within the Jet Data Source Settings > Drilldown tab.

Web Client Drilldown:

To configure the Web Client Drilldown for Dynamics NAV 2013 or later you must obtain the following information.

1) The Web Server name or IP address.

2) The port for the Web Client.

3) The Web Client instance name.

All of this information can be obtained by opening the Internet Information Services Manager (IIS) and expanding your Server Name > Sites > Microsoft Dynamics NAV 20XX Web Client.

The screenshots below show the corresponding information which is color coded to show which boxes to enter the information into within the Jet Data Source Settings > Drilldown tab.

'Use SSL encryption' would need to be checked if in IIS you see (https) next to the port number.

The 'Region Format' is a culture name that is used to format dates, times, numbers, and currency. The value must be a language culture name that has the format nn-NN, such as en-US.
