This article is designed to help you complete the Jet Enterprise dashboard feature installation from the beginning for versions 15.1 and later. This installation will include the Jet Dashboard Builder, Service Tier, and Administration Console.
Before beginning the installation, you must first know where you plan on installing the relevant Jet Enterprise pieces. The two primary methods for this include single server and dual server installations, as demonstrated below. If you do plan to install the the various components on different servers, you will need to install them accordingly. The installation method as follows will primarily focus on a single server environment, but the steps can be reproduced accordingly on the different servers to meet your needs.
Before beginning the installation, please ensure that you have addressed all of the necessary prerequisites steps detailed out in our Pre-Installation Checklist for the Jet Web Portal. In addition to the Pre-Installation Checklist, it is important for you to acquire an SSL certificate for use with the domain on which you will be hosting your Jet Enterprise dashboards.

After downloading the Jet Professional installation package from https://jetreports.com/download, extract the folder and then run the file named Jet Setup.exe.
On the first screen, you will be presented with a text box in which you will need to input your Activation Code. Do so and then click Next. The activation code is case-insensitive, but you will need to input the dashes within the code.
You will then be presented with options of what pieces you would like to install. The Client Components option will only install Jet Professional, the Jet Administration Console, and the Jet Dashboard Builder. The Server Components option will only install the Jet Service Tier and the Jet Web Portal. Depending on your environment and server setup as noted above, you may decide to choose one of these options. The third option, All Components, is the typical choice when installing to a single server environment. This is what the remainder of the installation will be following as it will encompass the steps for the other two options as well. Make your selection and then click Next.
The ensuing screen provides you specific options of which components you would like to install. If you chose something other than All Components on the previous screen, your options here will be limited. If you are installing this to a single-server environment, leave all options checked and click Next.
In the next screen, you will be able to select the “Run As account" which will run the Jet Service Tier. It is strongly recommended that you run the Service Tier under the Network Service account. The Network Service account is a predefined local account used by the service control manager. It has minimum privileges on the local computer and acts as the computer on the network. ( More information )
If you elect to use a different account, if the account has a password, you will want ensure that it does not change regularly (as the Jet Service Tier will have to be uninstalled and reinstalled each time). We recommend that you use the default service port of 7090 as this matches the default port that is defined in the Jet Application Settings and will make it easy for users to connect to the service. Once these options have been made, click Next.
On the following screen, you will enter the name of the SQL Server instance in which you will be creating (or reusing) the Jet Services database. If this exists on the same machine that you're currently installing to, the (local) instance will suffice.
Select either to log in to the database using the 'Run As' account, specified on the previous screen, or provide the username and password for a different database user. This is the account that the Jet Service Tier will use to login to the Service Database as, and as such should have a non-expiring password and the appropriate permissions within Microsoft SQL Server.
The next screen deals directly with the Jet Web Portal. Typically these settings will not need to be changed, with the exception of the Jet Service Tier host. If you used (local) as the SQL Server Instance from the previous step, then the Jet Service Tier host will need to be filled in with the name or IP address of the server you're installing to.
In the next screen of the installation package, you will be asked for the Service Tier host and port one last time. This will need to match the information that you input on the previous screen.
Once you've clicked Next on this screen, you will be presented with a final greeting before the installation begins. Simply click Install.
During the installation process, it is not uncommon or unexpected to see a variety of Command Prompt executable windows pop up. This includes the Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) tool window which will appear to open and close multiple times, the ASP.NET RegIIS executable, and the Cabinet Maker executable. Please be patient and these steps will eventually finish.
Once these pieces complete, you will be presented with a completion window. Ensure that the Enable the Jet Add-in checkbox is selected and click Finish.
This completes the installation process for the Jet Enterprise dashboard features. The following steps (which are necessary) are detailed out in the following KB articles:
