Multiple Concurrent Dynamics NAV Versions
If you have Navision 2.60e or later, Jet Essentials can work with multiple versions of Navision/NAV on the same machine.
Note: Multiple versions of Navision 4.0 (for example, 4.0 SP1 and 4.0 SP3) have been known to cause problems. If you are using Navision 4.0, you must run the Navision installer, and it must be the last installed version of Navision. Navision database (objects) versions do not affect this feature.
You must install one and only one version of C/FRONT (part of the NAV SDK). You should install the version of C/FRONT that matches your most recent version of NAV. It is very important to fill in the proper path in the NAV Client Program Folder in Jet's Data Source Settings. Jet Essentials chooses the version of C/FRONT based on the version in the Fin.exe file found in the NAV Client Program Folder.
One common way to use this feature is to change the Default Data Source depending on which version of NAV you want to use. You can also use the "DataSource=" feature of the NL function or fill in the Data Source field of the GL function.
This topic is only relevant to Navision connectors.
