Version 9.x - Importing/Exporting Settings


The following article is for Jet version 9.x

If you are setting up many workstations with the same Data Source and/or Application settings, you may want to set up the first workstation, then export these settings and import them to all other workstations.  You can also use the Export feature as a way to back up these settings.

Exporting Data Source Settings:

Step Action
1 Open the Data Source Settings in Jet Reports
2 Select File | Export | Data Sources...
3 Select the Data Sources you wish to export and then select OK
4 Save the .xml file to a location where you can easily find it

Importing Data Source Settings:

Step Action
1 Open the Data Source Settings in Jet Reports
2 Select File | Export | Data Sources...
3 Browse to the .xml file that you saved previously and select "Open"
4 Select the data sources you wish to import and select OK

Exporting Application Settings:

Step Action
1 Open the Application Settings in Jet Reports
2 Select File | Export
3 Save the .xml file to a location where you can easily find it

Importing Application Settings:

Step Action
1 Open the Application Settings in Jet Reports
2 Select File | Import
3 Browse to the .xml file that you saved previously and select "Open"
