Support for Internet Connection through Proxy Server


Proxy settings can be configured for Jet Analytics web traffic.

In some locked-down server environments all web traffic must pass through a proxy server.  With the proliferation of web-based data sources, more of our customers are likely to be using proxy servers.  This also works for the connection to the TimeXtender license server which makes it possible to activate the software over the Internet without a direct Internet connection (the alternative being a slightly cumbersome offline activation involving a license file requested from TimeXtender).

In addition to an application-wide setting we will add proxy settings to relevant data sources and adapters (note: version 17.5 and higher of the Salesforce Adapter already contains proxy settings)

 

  1. The application setting can be found in the Options pane in the Tools menu:

  2. On the General tab, click the Proxy Settings... button

  3. Enter your proxy information

    Press OK when finished. The, press OK to close the Options window
